Jeremy has studied dance with the Kentucky McTeggart Irish Dancers (Lexington, KY) since 2014. With KMID, he has regularly performed in festivals, private events, workshops, pubs, and competitions. His experience ranges from step dance and céilí (the Irish equivalent of square dance), to Sean-Nós (“old style”) and set dance.
Jeremy has seen competitive success as both a soloist and ensemble dancer, garnering accolades at a number of local, regional, and national events.
He was awarded the Silver Medal at the Mid-America Oireachtas in the Adult Traditional Sets category in 2019 and 2022. He is a charter member of the KMID Adult Céilí Team, and competed with the group from 2014 – 2016, 2018 – 2019, and 2021 – 2022. The team finished in the top 3 at the Mid-America Oireachtas each year, and earned the Gold Medal six times:
- Adult Céilí: 2015, 2019, 2021
- Adult 4-Hand: 2018, 2019, 2021
The team won the 2022 North American Irish Dance Championship in the Adult Mixed Céilí category in Montréal, QC, Canada.
Outside of competition, Jeremy performs as a core member of the KMID touring company, which is primarily comprised of the school’s faculty members. The ensemble performs professionally in a variety of venues ranging from local pubs to concert hall stages. The company has been featured in concert with several musical ensembles – including We Banjo 3 and the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra – and was cast in an original stage production entitled, “Next Stop.”
